Below are pictures and brief biographical information on recipients of awards from East Coast Bluegrass Association.

 

Jean & Sam Bazzanella

April 28, 2007: Jean and Sam Bazzanella of Christopher Run Campground and Christopher Run Bluegrass Festival received an award , for their many years of support of the Bluegrass Industry. Sadly they no longer have a full on Bluegrass Festival, however 2008 marks a new beginning for Sam and Jean. Starting June 6 & 7 2008 Christopher Run Bluegrass Festival will have a 2 day Bluegrass Picking Party / Bluegrass Jam. Congratulations and welcome back Sam and Jean.

Robert "Red" Shipley

August 25, 2007: Robert “Red” Shipley received an award for his many years as a loved Bluegrass Emcee. Sadly the Bluegrass Industry mourned his passing on October 6, 2007; just a few short months after this presentation. “Red” was best known for but, not limited to his Radio Show on WAMU “Stained Glass Bluegrass”. He started his Emcee career in 1966 and continued until his passing. Truly he will be missed.

Margaret & Joe Goddard

April 26, 2008 Joseph "Joe" and Margaret Goddard  of L"il Margaret's Bluegrass and Old Time Music festival was presented and award for twenty years of contribution to Bluegrass music. As they embark into their next 20 years we gladly support and encourage them in their continueing efforts to keep the traditions of Bluegrass alive and growing. Thank you for all of your time and love that you have put into this industry. 1988 - 2008 and continues.

Charlie Waller and The Country Gentlemen

April 26, 2008: Shaciko Waller accepted an award in memory of her late husband Charlie Waller and The Country Gentlemen for 50 years contribution to Bluegrass Music. Charlie Waller and The Country Gentlemen created a unique sound and upheld the traditional sound of Bluegrass that has defined several generations. 1958 - 2008

The "Loveable" Lewis Family

August 22, 2008: "America's favorite Bluegrass Gospel Group" The "Loveable" Lewis Family recieved and award of special recognition for their 47 year of contribution to Bluegrass and Bluegrass Gospel.  Their unique sound that is created through the musical talents of each member and vocal harmony that comes from the genetic timber of this family group.  Their musical careers have spaned several generations of their family and the Bluegrass Family.  1951 - 2008 and continues.

John & Ferne Hutchinson

March 7, 2009: John and Ferne Hutchinson of Central Virginia Family Bluegrass Music Festival and Amelia Family Campground recieved an award  (while at Cabin Fever Pickin' Party), for special recognition for their 29 - 30 years of contribution to the Bluegrass Industry.  As they and their family continue into their next 30 years,  we support them in their efforts to keep Bluegrass Music alive and growing. 1979 - 2008, 2009 and continues.
